Best Eiffel Tower Views in the Neighborhood
228 Rue de l’Université
This location on on Rue de l’Université is the perfect photo spot to see the Eiffel Tower close up within the streets of Paris.
Story time: This is my favorite spot because it was where I first came eye to eye with the Eiffel Tower … by complete accident. On my first trip in 2014, I stayed at an Airbnb on this street and decided to take an evening stroll. I knew the Eiffel Tower was nearby, but I had no map and strolled around aimlessly. And within minutes, I saw it right next to me. Needless to say, it is a pretty incredible way to see it for the few time. (I thought this spot was my little secret until I saw it marked on Google Maps a few years later! Ha).

Best Eiffel Tower Views Straight Forward
Place du Trocadéro
Place du Trocadéro is simply the best straight forward view of the Eiffel Tower. And for that reason, it is often jam packed with tourists so plan your visit accordingly. This is a great viewpoint especially in the evening during sunset and when the tower lights up. Nearby are beautiful fountains too. (P.S. If you are taking the metro, the closest station is (shockingly) Trocadéro.

Best Eiffel Tower Views for Sunset
Pont de la Concorde
Part of the Seine (the famous Paris river) is a couple of steps away from the Eiffel Tower. Therefore, any bridge found between Pont de la Concorde and Pont d’Iéna provides an amazing view of the infamous structure. I especially like the view from Pont de la Concorde because you can also capture Pont Alexandre III in the shot which has some beautiful lamps lined across it. And the mood strikes you, take a cruise across the Seine to see the tower from different sides, especially during sunset.

Rex Angel Tip: Catch sunset on one of the bridges for some gorgeous views of the Eiffel Tower.

Best Eiffel Tower Views from a Distance
Sacré-Coeur
Sacre Coeur is a must-see in Paris. Tourists and locals congregate on the steps in front of the church for sunset especially. (I love sitting on these steps with a bottle of wine!). You will get some beautiful views of the city from this point. Moreover, if you turn to your right, hidden in the distant, is the Eiffel Tower.

Best Views of the Eiffel Tower Close-Up
If you are not planning to climb up the Eiffel Tower, you may not think to actually get up, close and personal with it. However, the view of the tower when you are right next to it and under it is pretty spectacular. And it was definitely much larger in person than I anticipated.

Recommended Hostels in Paris
If you are like me, you may wish to book accommodation with an Eiffel Tower view. I personally stayed in an apartment, but there are tons of hotels in Paris with Eiffel Tower views. And of course, there are tons more famous landmarks in France you will want to visit!

Paris is a relatively safe city, but it does have a number of scams and cons. I’ve seen some of these firsthand, but still felt safe both as a solo traveler and while traveling with friends in the city. Simply do some reading in advance so you are aware of the common scams in France . (Fun fact: I read about scams in any country before I go simply to keep myself aware). And I do advocate for travel insurance. If applicable to you, check with your employee benefits to see if you are covered. Otherwise, I like World Nomads as it’s quite reputable and provides 24-hour assistance.

I’ve been to Paris many times, but when I get home I never have the perfect Eiffel Tower photo! I will next time!
These views are beautiful! I think my favourite is looking down the Champs-Élysées from the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Next time in Paris I’m going to check out your suggestions. Thanks!
I found that you can see the tower in a lot of parts of the city which is great. These view points you listed are really pretty!
Amazing, I definitely haven’t been to all these points in Paris. After lockdown!
Great photos. I think my favourite is from underneath, capturing the enormity of the structure and work involved in designing and building it.
I haven’t seen the view from the top of the Arc de Triomphe yet! Thanks for sharing; I’ve heard that’s amazing too, as well as from the top of Notre Dame.
